Hi Family, I know this is one of those subjects none of us want to think or talk about, but it's good that people have an understanding of the reality of hell. I tell you - It's no where I would ever want to even step into. Sad part is, many people we know are laughing and dancing their way there - and they don't even know it. It's our duty as Christians to spread the good news of the gospel. Make an effort to at least reach out to one person you know that needs a reminder!
Below are many verses that talk about hell and how real it is. Hell:
Isaiah 5:14-16 “Sheol (hell) has enlarged itself and opened its mouth beyond measure. Their glory and their multitudes and their pomp (pride), and he who is jubilant shall descend into it. People shall be brought down, each man shall be humbled, but the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God who is holy shall be hallowed in righteousness.”
Isaiah 14:9-11 “Hell from beneath is excited about you, to meet you at your coming; It stirs up the dead for you, all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. They all shall speak and say to you: ‘Have you become as weak as us? Your pomp (pride) is brought down to Sheol (hell).’”
Matthew 25:46 “These will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Matthew 13:41-42 “The Son of Man will send out His angels and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practise lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
Matthew 10:28 “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Matthew 25:41 “Then He will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Psalm 9:17 “The wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God.”
Revelation 19:20 “...Those who worshipped the image of the beast and received his mark were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
Revelation 20:15 “Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 21:8 “The cowardly, unbelieving, abdominal, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Luke 16:23-26 “Being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. The he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham have mercy on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Son remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from one side to the other cannot.”
